Feeling Tired All The Time? Here Are 6 Mindful Ways To Have More Energy

If you are anything like me, maybe you are making the most of this Summer in and amongst a full schedule of work and family. But sometimes it’s a push to maintain the high energy you need, to make the most of the warm summer nights. City or Country. To help you on your way, here is my guide, to an energised Summer

1. Morning Ritual

Start your day well with a morning meditation & big glass of water. It’s not always that we need more energy, but that we could use the energy we do have, more efficiently. Morning meditation can help you calm your mind and find a nice centred place from which to spring into the day. Like a pro cyclist or disco dancer, you’ll pace yourself expertly, so you are ready and raring to go at 5pm.

2. Have Loads More Fun

There are certain things we just love and when we love something we tend to do it really well. When we do them, we draw from our wellspring of plenty. ( read more about that here) For example: me, I’m bonkers about poetry. (Here's why..)  I love reading it, citing it , sharing it, talking about poems with other people. I’m lucky I've got quite patient friends and family, when I come to think of it. When i’m involved with poems i feel energized and alive. The love of poetry springs bountifully out of my wellspring of plenty. I don't need to try, it just flows out effortlessly. When you connect with, enjoy and share your passions, you feel energised and alive. What’s in your wellspring? Find yours, and start sharing it, albeit in small ways, for unbridled energy.

3. Breathe Really Well

“Breath is the bridge which connects life to consciousness, which unites your body to your thoughts. Whenever your mind becomes scattered, use your breath as the means to take hold of your mind again.” ― Thích Nhất Hạnh, I love Thich Nhat Hanh he has done so much good work in the world. Learning simple breathing techniques can make the world of difference. Just think, nice, full, rhythmic, vibrant inhalations of fresh oxygen, flowing through your body and lighting you up  from the inside out. Try a little of this at 4pm when you want to reconnect or a little pick me up.

4. Be Outdoors Regularly

The trees and the plants blossem beautifully this time of year. William Bloom, researcher of the endorphin effect reports that communing with nature can be deeply energising, releasing pro-happiness endorphins. If you live in the city, and there aren't many green spaces, you can just as easily take a walk, give yourself some wind in your hair and sun on your face. Think little and often rather than sitting in electric light all day and feeling burnt out at the end.

5. Playlists Matter

Use music as your meditation and create a playlist that for you represents the kind of energy you just love to feel. Music frames our state of mind and primes us for feeling a certain way about life. Create  a playlist that lights you up.

6. Eat Boundy

I’m not a nutritional expert, so i share this based on my own personal experience only, but eating plenty of green leafy veg has always stood me in good stead energy wise. I cant get enough of it actually. I usually but a big bag of kale from the health goof store and keep it in th fridge at the office ( kale tends to last quite well) and i put it with everything, throughout the day.  Bright, vibrant, fresh foods and drinks. Vitality in, vitality out. ( More on that here )
