Dear friends,

Meditation is pretty undemanding. You don't need anything in order to get started. You don't need perfect circumstances, or a set of jade beads or a special pillow. Wherever you are, you are there, and it is that 'you' part, that meditation is all about.

Now, all of that said,  so long as they don't distract us beyond what is necessary or enjoyable, I rather quite like nice things. Luxury candles, soft cashmere joggers, flowers, precious gems, music, and beautiful literature. Why not, meditation is a celebration of life.

Accessories aren't 100% essential for meditation, but if you enjoy them they can bring a real specialness to your quiet time, which might in turn encourage you to create a routine and keep it up more consistently.

Just below is the accessories list taken from the beginning of part one, in Inhale. Exhale. Repeat. It's my hope that you can begin readying your accessories, so that when the book drops on your doormat this coming Thursday you will be ready and rested.

•A pillow, comfortable cushion or chair to sit in.

•A designated safe place identified as a good spot for your meditation.

•A journal and pen.
Extras

•Your favourite music playlist, plus headphones.

•Herbal teas (chamomile, peppermint, jasmine, for example).

•Poetry anthology and a book of short stories (see recommendations in
this book).

•Home-grown herbs for herbal tea and pot plants for creating a relaxing
surroundings.

•Plenty of organic fruit and veg for the recipes in the book.

•Essential oils and aromatherapy fragrances to spritz (lavender, jasmine,
rosewood, for example).

•Soft and comfortable clothes for sitting in.
